   Crescents are one of the most enigmatic stone tools that seem to be associated with Clovis. They are found on sites in the Great Basin area of eastern California and Nevada where Clovis artifacts have been found. Many of these Crescents have smoothing on the inside and outside center edges that might suggest hafting.
   This example is made of Green River Formation chert. Although it was not excavated, it does have the same coating of red ochre as do many of the other Fenn Cache Clovis artifacts.
