13-A
One of the earliest stone tool technologies in North America is a
process that produces long narrow flakes called blades. These blades were
struck off a larger piece of stone called a core. This example is the only
Core-Blade contained within the Fenn cache. Core-Blades could be used to
make end-scrapers, side-scrapers, perforators and other assorted tool
types that vary in different regions of the country. |
