NOTCHED MAMMOTH BONE
LANGE-FERGUSON MAMMOTH KILL SITE

   Several of the bones found at Lange-Ferguson

were altered in various ways by deliberate flaking.

This flake from the mammoth's leg bone is approximately

9 inches long and for some unknown reason was

notched in two places on one end.
   The lower picture shows a triple exposure of this artifact.
