BOB HUNT COLLECTION

This is a good example of Bob's special area of interest of making very large blades (bifaces). This is a great art piece. It's made of Edwards plateau flint and measures well over 19 inches long.

Bob Hunt is a flintknapper who lives in the Kansas City area of Missouri. He helps put on and sponsors the countries largest knap-in each year at Fort Osage near Kansas City, Missouri. He in fact began one of the earliest knap-ins around 1980. As the pictures on this page would suggest, his nickname is "Big Flint".

BOB HUNT COLLECTION

Another great example of Bob's large pieces he makes himself. This one is also made of Edwards Plateau flint.

Bob collects most of his flint himself. The two pieces on this page are made of Edwards Plateau flint from Texas.
