MAYA ECCENTRIC
BELIZE
PRIVATE COLLECTION

Maya eccentric crescent from Belize.
Many of the designs that flint knappers are using

today to make their points and eccentrics are

influenced by the work of ancient Stone Age
cultures. The Maya eccentrics seem to be a source

for some of these designs.
The example pictured here is an eccentric from

Belize and in a category called a crescent. It's a ritual

object that may have been used as a votive offering

to a Maya god. This is an especially good example.

Maya eccentric crescent from Belize.
