FLUTED POINT
VAIL SITE
OXFORD COUNTY, MAINE

   This fluted point was discovered on the Vail site

in December, 2001 by John Halunen. The matching

ear that has been attached in this picture was

discovered during excavation of the Vail site in

1980. The ear is owned by the Maine State Museum.
   Notice the different coloration on opposite sides

of the point.
