BARK BEATER This bark beater was collected from people living in the high mountain region of eastern New Guinea called the Kukukuku tribe. It's complete with a handle but less refined than some examples. This bark beater was made from some type of hard stone. It was pecked into shape and partially ground smooth. It measures 12 1/4 inches (31.1 cm) long.
