    This picture shows a large number of Ramey knives

that were brought together from several different private

collections. Ramey knives are fairly rare, especially if

you compare their numbers to Mississippian agricultural

tools like spades or notched hoes. The knives in this

group are made of Mill Creek, Kaolin and Burlington

cherts. The colorful red and orange knives are the Kaolin

specimens. The brown examples are Mill Creek. The

longest knife in this group measures 9 1/2 inches
(24.1 cm) long.
